Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Teacher of French to join our secondary school in Wakefield. This is a full-time position, starting on 24th February. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality French lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school has a strong commitment to language learning and values the impact of modern foreign languages on student development. Job Responsibility:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging French lessons that meet the national curriculum
  • Foster a love for language learning through interactive and innovative teaching strategies
  • Differentiate lessons to cater to a range of learning abilities and styles
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and concerns
  • Support students in preparing for examinations, including GCSE and A-Level (if applicable)
  • Encourage a growth mindset and resilience in language learning
  • Implement school policies on safeguarding, equality, and inclusion
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance
  • Support the school's vision and values in all aspects of teaching and professional conduct

Requirements:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Excellent communication
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Fluent in French with excellent pronunciation and grammatical knowledge
  • Ability to inspire and engage learners
  • Strong classroom management and discipline techniques
  • Familiarity with GCSE French curriculum and assessments
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
