Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and committed Specialist Study Skills Tutor (ASC) to provide one to one academic support to students with Autism Spectrum Condition, enabling them to develop effective learning strategies and achieve academic success in a higher education setting.

Job Responsibility:

Provide one to one academic support to students with Autism Spectrum Condition
Develop effective learning strategies
Enable students to achieve academic success
Create individual learning plans tailored to student's needs
Support students to develop independence
Build on strengths and learning strategies
Create strategies around organisation and time management
Create action plans to stay on track with studies
Build on research skills
Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references
Build on comprehension skills within reading and writing

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree level (level 6 as minimum)
Teaching qualification
Extensive training in adult autism
Experience of working with autistic clients
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths
Punctuality and reliability
Good organisational skills
Ability to manage a caseload of students
