Job Responsibility:

  • Manage Business Performance (P&L and Drivers): Conduct deep dives on Product and Segments performance, provide analysis and insights to business opportunities
  • develop compelling business case and narratives to support strategic recommendation and facilitate informed decision making
  • Provide strategic guidance on Cost and Headcount Management: effectively manage operational efficiency through establishing governance framework, robust reviews of expense lines, and underlying drivers. Exercise tight cost controls across business (direct and indirect), on both project related cost and run the bank cost. Lead the identification & execution of cost optimization initiatives within IWPB to drive efficiency gain and cost reduction across IWPB Singapore and deliver cost and headcount plan
  • Lead financial modelling and driver-based forecasting and provide oversight to the annual budgeting process: Partner with Data, Products and Customer Segments teams to develop and enhance financial models and forecasting processes to guide the IWPB financial planning and resource allocations
  • Design and maintain a dynamic performance-based framework with key performance indicators that reflect IWPB’s objectives and drive accountability across teams
  • Collaborate with IWPB lines of business (Asset Management, Private Bank, Retail Bank and Insurance) and support functions to ensure alignment and delivery of financial goals and operational strategies including cost management and initiatives
  • Coordinate the preparation of business presentations such as internal business reviews, strategy plan, offsites, audit, engagement with regulators and external parties
  • Actively participate in and support ad hoc projects including strategic reviews, planning, management information (MI), and governance
  • Drive cyclical activities, internal event (eg. virtual and physical townhalls) as well as ad-hoc/ special projects related to Business Management
  • Preparation of committee/forum papers and presentation
  • Ensure that the needs of stakeholders in the Group, or external stakeholders such as regulators, are understood and satisfied efficiently and effectively
  • Support the Head of IWPB in developing and refining WPB strategic and tactical initiatives to achieve FRP targets and long terms objectives
  • Partner with Distribution / Channels to continuously improve, driving wealth penetration and RM productivity through various initiatives and development
  • Investigate and remediate for discrete issues which may adversely affect the business performance
  • Manages and leads a cohesive team that is aligned to the business areas they support and works collaboratively with colleagues in regional and global teams

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Accountancy, Business, or any business-adjacent fields from top tier university with extensive relevant experience in Business Management, Products & Segments management including P&L ownership or Business Finance in a global bank
  • Extensive knowledge of Wealth and Premier Banking, Retail products and Treasury / Balance Sheet management particularly in Asia and Singapore
  • Proven experience as a senior manager in banking
  • Experience in executing complex projects and initiatives from initiation to completion, preferred prior experience in project management & business integration in financial services industry
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic leader, willing to champion change beneficial for business, and the ability to persuade and motivate individuals to support a cross-team agenda
  • Possesses well developed communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to maintain solid working relationships with senior management and other stakeholders
  • Fluent in English
  • High competency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to quickly grasp and master new concepts, product & functional knowledge and simplify & resolve complex issues
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively multiple demands, shifting priorities and tight timelines
  • Flexible and adaptable nature to manage a multi-faced role with changing priorities and assignments that are complex, unpredictable and time sensitive
  • Strong executive communication skills and consultative approach to partner with multitude of stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Critical thinking and is willing to challenge status-quo
  • Collaborative nature, able to build effective relationships with multiple stakeholders and peers across functions and business lines
  • Strong and confident communication and presentations skills
