Job Description:

The P&C Engineering SCADA Design Team provides engineering expertise and support to high voltage transmission substations, generating stations and distribution facilities. Our team also provides project management, design, maintenance and emergency response services to the company and selected external clients. The successful candidate will be part of the SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) design team delivering complex, multi-discipline capital projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure safety, quality, and timeliness, all while staying within budget
  • Provide engineering design, estimating, planning, and quality management services for low to medium complexity projects
  • Prepare project documentation and deliverables in accordance with company project and Engineering Design Practices
  • Prepare design work packages including scope, duration, and level of effort estimates
  • Prepare signed/sealed engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record (PoR) in accordance with EGBC and Design Practices
  • Provide technical assistance and construction support in the field, and undertake field reviews as required by EGBC
  • Prepare detailed SCADA design packages, device point assignments, and configurations
  • Configuring/program RTUs, gateway devices, user interfaces, network switches/routers, and other IEDs related to the SCADA systems
  • Specify and procure materials, panel assemblies and other related equipment
  • Test and validate device configurations in a lab environment
  • Prepare and execute pre-commissioning test plans for SCADA systems
  • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the design process (cross-discipline integration, factory testing, installation, commissioning)
  • Provide training for end-users and peers on the theory and operational use of the installed or modified equipment/systems

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering from an institute accredited by the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC)
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of related work experience in automation or control systems and shall be eligible for immediate registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC
  • Must be able to come to office on hybrid basis

Nice to have:

  • Experience with DNP3, networking protocols, Cyber Security and delivering M2M networking applications is desired
  • Experience with programming of GE Remote Terminal Units
  • Knowledge of NERC standards is desired
