Job Description:

Randstad Canada is hiring for a Paint Line Associate in the Edmonton area for one of our leading clients in the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing industry. The position is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining the Manual Powder Coat system, handling material during the loading and unloading of parts, and ensuring high-quality paint applications on products.

Job Responsibility:

  • Adhere to detailed specifications, work instructions, manufacturing information and written or verbal instructions from supervision
  • Run and operate Dynamic Machine Management software (DMM)
  • Ensure the chemical concentricity (mix) and pH levels are within recommended range
  • Perform titration test & troubleshoot chemical concentricity and pH level variations
  • Replace Wash System Chemical as required
  • Maintain the integrity of the Pre-Treat system and ensure the waste solution does not exceed environmental limitations
  • Manually paint all standard, non-standard colors and touch ups to standard colors
  • Inspect final product for cosmetic, coverage, cure, adhesion and thickness
  • Load and Unload product from the paint line rails
  • Prioritize jobs per required date and/or based on supervision direction
  • Regularly maintain equipment as per Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) sheet including daily maintenance on guns and equipment
  • Support EPC Mesh goals by reducing waste, recycle, use material effectively.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one-year experience in a manufacturing environment or six months assembly experience required
  • High School Diploma required
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics is an asset
  • Ability to perform standard work procedures and processes
  • Demonstrated experience of utilizing mechanical tools and measuring equipment required for assembly
  • Good problem solving, mathematical skills and troubleshooting ability.

Nice to have:

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
  • Experience with drawing search software (Enovia, Vault etc.)
  • Knowledge of Powder Coating and related systems like Waste Water Treatment.
