Job Description:

The position involves overseeing, operating, and maintaining electrical systems in a shopping mall, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations, and supporting energy management initiatives.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee, operate, and maintain electrical systems, including high-voltage equipment, switchgears, transformers, and power distribution units
Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operations
Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, implementing corrective actions to maintain a continuous power supply
Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices
Coordinate with internal departments and external contractors to schedule maintenance and repair activities
Maintain accurate records of electrical operations, maintenance activities, and inspection logs
Conduct risk assessments, lead safety briefings, and enforce safe work procedures within the team
Register and maintain Competency Qualification with Suruhanjaya Tenaga, ensuring all electrical systems are in optimal condition
Support energy management initiatives to reduce power consumption and enhance sustainability

Requirements:

Chargeman BO 33kV certified by the Energy Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Tenaga)
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in high-voltage (HV) operation and maintenance, preferably in a retail or commercial environment
Experience in preventive maintenance, calibration of M&E equipment, and building structure maintenance
Practical experience in managing both major and routine electrical shutdowns
Strong knowledge of the Electricity Supply Act, Suruhanjaya Tenaga regulations, and IEE Wiring Regulations
Must be able to be on-call and respond promptly to emergency situations within the shopping mall
