The typical day for an individual in AM Cook jobs is fast-paced and requires meticulous preparation. Core responsibilities begin before the first customer arrives. This involves prepping the kitchen station, which includes gathering all necessary tools and equipment. A significant portion of the morning is dedicated to "mise en place," a French term meaning "everything in its place." This entails washing, peeling, and chopping fresh fruits and vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing items like batters, dressings, and sauces.
