Methodology - Vanuatu (2026)
Educational model - not a VNPF statement, not a tax return, not tax advice. Currency VUV (vatu, VT).
Employee (VNPF)
- Vanuatu levies no personal income tax (and no corporate income tax), so there is no PAYE deduction.
- The only mandatory payroll deduction is the Vanuatu National Provident Fund (VNPF). Following the VNPF Act amendments, the mandatory contribution rises from 8% to 12% effective 1 January 2026, split employee 4% and employer 8% of remuneration.
- Out of scope: the VNPF minimum-wage contribution floor.

Self-employed (sole proprietor)
- With no personal income tax and no mandatory contribution for the self-employed, take-home equals net business profit (revenue minus expenses).
- VNPF membership is voluntary for the self-employed (out of scope).
