Methodology - Turkmenistan (2026)

Employee (flat income tax)
- Personal income tax is a flat 10% on employment income.
- A base-value deduction equal to the monthly minimum salary (modelled at TMT 1,280) is subtracted before the 10% is applied.
- There is no mandatory employee social-security contribution in the model (employee pension insurance is voluntary). The employer pays 20% pension insurance on remuneration.
- Taxable monthly income = gross - base-value deduction.

Self-employed (sole proprietor)
- Self-employed business and professional income is taxed at the same flat 10% on net profit (revenue minus actual expenses); the base-value deduction is not applied.
