Methodology - Saint Kitts and Nevis (2026)

Employee (no income tax + Social Security + Housing Levy)
- There is no personal income tax in Saint Kitts and Nevis.
- Social Security: employee 5% and employer 5%, on insurable earnings capped at XCD 6,500/month.
- Housing and Social Development Levy (HSDL): employees earning over XCD 1,950/month (XCD 450/week) pay 3.5% on earnings up to 6,500; 10% on 6,500-8,000; 12% above 8,000. At or below the threshold, only Social Security applies.
- Net = gross - employee Social Security - HSDL.

Self-employed (sole proprietor)
- No income tax, so net business income equals profit (revenue minus actual expenses). Self-employed Social Security and Housing Levy are separate and not modelled.
