Methodology - Monaco (2026)
Educational model - not an official assessment, not a tax return, not tax advice. Currency EUR.
Employee (no income tax + social charges)
- Monaco levies no personal income tax on residents (since 1869). French nationals are an exception and are out of scope here.
- Employee social contributions are tranche-based on gross salary: 12.85% on gross up to EUR 4,760/month (CAR pension 6.55% + ASSEDIC unemployment 2.40% + AMSF-UGRR supplementary pension 3.90%), then 11.40% on the slice up to EUR 13,076/month (ASSEDIC 2.40% + AMSF-UGRR 9.00%), and nothing above.
- Employer charges (CCSS health and family + employer pension) are higher; they are modelled at a representative ~30% for the employer-cost estimate.
- Net = gross - employee social contributions (no income tax).

Self-employed (sole proprietor)
- There is no personal income tax, so net business income equals profit (revenue minus actual expenses). Self-employed CARTI (pension) and CAMTI (health) contributions are separate and not modelled in this estimate.
