Employee (mandatory pension)

  • The Cayman Islands has no personal income tax, so there is no PAYE deduction.
  • Mandatory pension: employee 5% + employer 5% of earnings, up to the year's maximum pensionable earnings of KYD 87,000/year (KYD 7,250/month). Amounts above the cap are voluntary.
  • Out of scope: employer-provided health insurance (SHIP), a premium-based cost where the employer pays at least half - it is a fixed premium, not a percentage of salary.
