Methodology & sources
Methodology - Benin (2026)
Educational model - not a Direction Generale des Impots assessment, not a tax return, not tax advice. Currency XOF (West African CFA franc).
Employee (IPTS + CNSS)
- IPTS is assessed on monthly salary at progressive rates: 0% up to XOF 60,000; 10% to 150,000; 15% to 250,000; 20% to 500,000; 30% above.
- CNSS (social security): employee 3.6% (pension), deductible before IPTS. The employer total (pension + family allowances + work-injury) is modelled at a representative 16.4%.
- Taxable monthly income = gross - employee CNSS. The model computes the single-person case; dependent-child reductions are out of scope.

Self-employed (sole proprietor)
- Self-employed business income is taxed on the same IPTS scale on net business profit (revenue minus actual expenses); CNSS is not modelled for the self-employed case.
