Job Description:

The Zone Maintenance Supervisor supports the Facility Manager by overseeing daily maintenance operations and supervising the Zone Maintenance Shop for MUHA facilities, primarily serving Ambulatory Surgical Centers in the Charleston area. This role ensures routine and non-routine maintenance activities are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and codes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance activities within the assigned facilities
  • Manage utility outages and coordinate repair and maintenance work for facilities under your supervision
  • Utilize building automation systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) effectively
  • Procure necessary goods and services to maintain the facilities
  • Ensure all facility systems are operated and maintained in compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, DHEC, NFPA, ASHRAE and other relevant AHJ’s
  • May be required to serve as Essential Personnel during revised operational scenarios

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare facilities and building systems
  • Proficiency in building automation systems and CMMS’s
  • Strong understanding of applicable healthcare operational policies, procedures, codes, and regulations
  • Ability to manage utility outages and coordinate/communicate maintenance work efficiently
  • Experience in procuring goods and services for facility maintenance
  • An associate degree with four years of direct maintenance experience in healthcare facilities, or a high school diploma with six years of progressively responsible maintenance experience in healthcare settings
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and perform effectively in the absence of the Facility Manager
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 5 years progressive work experience
