Job Description:

The consultant will be supporting the customer’s hardware using Hardware Configuration definition (HCD). This role will support and maintain enterprise IBM mainframe infrastructure in a complex, high-availability production environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the customer’s hardware using Hardware Configuration definition (HCD)
  • Administer, maintain, and support IBM z/OS systems in a production SYSPLEX environment
  • Design, implement, and maintain HCD definitions and IOCDS configurations
  • Perform hardware configuration updates, including processor, channel, control unit, and device definitions

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience as a z/OS Systems Programmer / Administrator
  • Strong expertise in: HCD (Hardware Configuration Definition)
  • IOCDS creation and management
  • I/O configuration planning and validation
  • Deep knowledge of IBM Z hardware architecture
  • Proven experience supporting Parallel Sysplex environments
  • Experience with multi-LPAR configurations
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to I/O paths, channel subsystems, and device definitions
  • Experience performing system IPLs and hardware migrations
  • Familiarity with SMP/E, JES2/JES3, WLM, GRS, XCF, and related subsystems
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
