Job Description

Our client, a large systems integrator, is looking to hire 2 z/OS Automation Consultants for a 12-month remote contract. The consultant will be working with the IBM Software Migration Project office (SMPO) working to implement and support automation solutions within IBM Z mainframe environments, focusing on enhancing system availability and reducing manual operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Implementing, configuring, and maintaining IBM Z System Automation (SA z/OS) and NetView to maximize availability and minimize manual intervention
  • Developing REXX scripts and JCL to automate operational processes and troubleshooting issues using TSO/ISPF
  • Leading or participating in z/OS automation migration projects to ensure smooth transitions

Requirements

  • 5+ years working in a mainframe operations environment providing an operational, service, consultancy or support role
  • Must have experience with z/OS Automation migration projects
  • OPS/MVS and/or BMC Auto Operator (but OPS/MVS is preferred)
  • System Automation/ Netview implementation or migration experience
  • Working Knowledge of the System Automation Policy Database (PDB)
  • Strong REXX coding skills
  • Demonstrated strong written and communications skills
  • The ability to use TSO and ISPF
  • JCL skills
