Job Description:

Senior Group Manager Director position overseeing a Global engineering team responsible for maintaining the very large z/OS mainframe environment, including installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware components, operating system and related software with the goal of ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the mainframe infrastructure.

Job Responsibility:

Manage, mentor, and develop a team of z/OS System Programmers
Oversee installation, maintenance, and upgrades of z/OS and other mainframe software
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization solutions
Diagnose and resolve complex system issues including software errors and hardware failures
Implement and maintain comprehensive security policies and procedures
Plan for future system needs and ensure adequate resources
Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures
Work with other IT teams such as application support and network engineering
Identify and implement process improvements
Manage z/OS projects ensuring delivery of high-quality solutions
Provide elevated Mainframe access to new Programmers, Contractors & Computer Operators
Ensure continuous improvement of processes, standards, policies, and tools
Participate in ongoing production support and end user support
Provide user training and documentation
Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation

Requirements:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in z/OS Administration
Overall technology experience of 10 plus years
Deep understanding of z/OS operating system including SYSPLEX implementation, SMP/E, z/OSMF
Experience with IBM Security Portal and Vulnerability management
Expert level familiarity with disaster recovery solution and GDPS technology
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven leadership experience managing, mentoring, and developing teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with mainframe hardware and software including UNIX Systems Services under z/OS
Knowledge of z/OS utilities and tools (HCD, SMP/E, RACF, TCP/IP, SMTP, FTP, DFDSS, DSF, SMS, Infoprint, TLS, VTAM)
Knowledge of SERVER pack installs and upgrades
Knowledge of TSO/JCL and all ISPF functionalities
Knowledge of Hardware configuration via HMC, DS8910, and Luminex VTL tape subsystems
Knowledge of OEM products including OPS/MVS, Zeke job scheduler, Zara tape management
Ability to resolve hardware/software issues to maintain 24x7 operation
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience

Strong technical skills in geospatial data management and analysis
Proven track record of successfully managing geospatial projects
