Community Care Trust is seeking passionate and committed Youth Support Workers to join our Youth Team in Ōtepoti. Job Responsibility
Work alongside rangatahi who may have experienced trauma, adversity, or complex life circumstances
Support them to build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve their goals through positive relationships, consistency, and encouragement
Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
Support the wellbeing and development of young people
Uphold CCT values of Respect, Reliability, Transparency, and Responsiveness
Requirements
Experience working with rangatahi, whānau, Māori, Pacific, or diverse communities
Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice
Knowledge and application experience of Te Ao Māori, tikanga Māori, Pacific worldviews, and culturally grounded approaches to supporting rangatahi
Ability to build positive, respectful, and trusting relationships with young people
Strong communication, patience, and resilience
Understanding of strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches
Ability to work well within a team and maintain clear documentation and communication
Full New Zealand Driver License
First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one at our cost)
Eligibility to work in Aotearoa New Zealand
Minimum 12 months Work/Student Visa before your visa expiry
Availability to work rostered shifts, including weekends
Level 4 or above Health & Wellbeing certificate or assessed equivalent qualifications OR 3 years (full time) New Zealand based Support Worker experience
Nice to have
Experience supporting young people with complex needs or behaviours
Lived experience, cultural knowledge, community involvement, understanding of Te Reo Māori or Pasifika languages
