Are you a compassionate and resilient professional dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of young people? We are currently seeking Youth Support Workers for exciting Temp-to-Perm opportunities with a leading specialist youth charity.
Job Responsibility
To establish a positive relationship with Young People and to support them to create a safe home environment
To provide holistic support (on a one to one and group basis) to all young people accessing the service
To work alongside and support the Housing Worker to provide practical and hands on support regarding budgeting, cooking, cleaning and running a home
To ensure direction is taken in responding to arising safety concerns including adhering to safety plans in order to promote safeguarding
Be required to undertake any other duties to ensure the effective, safe delivery and development of services
Be flexible and willing to adapt to the changing needs of the young people and service
To work shift patterns that meet the needs of the young people
Requirements
A valid NISCC registration, as well as enhanced vetting/compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check
6 months of experience working with young people in supported housing or community-based support OR a relevant degree (Social Work, Youth & Community Work) plus 6 months of experience
Proven experience in risk assessment, safety planning, and support planning
Understanding and knowledge of homelessness, mental health and substance use
