Job Description

Are you a compassionate and resilient professional dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of young people? We are currently seeking Youth Support Workers for exciting Temp-to-Perm opportunities with a leading specialist youth charity.

Job Responsibility

  • To establish a positive relationship with Young People and to support them to create a safe home environment
  • To provide holistic support (on a one to one and group basis) to all young people accessing the service
  • To work alongside and support the Housing Worker to provide practical and hands on support regarding budgeting, cooking, cleaning and running a home
  • To ensure direction is taken in responding to arising safety concerns including adhering to safety plans in order to promote safeguarding
  • Be required to undertake any other duties to ensure the effective, safe delivery and development of services
  • Be flexible and willing to adapt to the changing needs of the young people and service
  • To work shift patterns that meet the needs of the young people

Requirements

  • A valid NISCC registration, as well as enhanced vetting/compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check
  • 6 months of experience working with young people in supported housing or community-based support OR a relevant degree (Social Work, Youth & Community Work) plus 6 months of experience
  • Proven experience in risk assessment, safety planning, and support planning
  • Understanding and knowledge of homelessness, mental health and substance use
