Job Responsibility:
Provide overnight support to young people in a 3-bed EBD home based in Preesall, Blackpool, ensuring their safety and wellbeing throughout the night shift
Monitor and respond to the needs of young people, offering emotional support and reassurance as required
Maintain accurate records of overnight activities, incidents, and observations in line with organisational policies
Implement care plans and support strategies tailored to individual needs, promoting positive behaviour and development
Ensure the safety and security of the home environment during the night shift
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to support the young people's needs and progress
Adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the protection of vulnerable young people at all times
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to continually enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
Experience working in children's services, particularly with children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
Knowledge of children's care and support, including anti-social behaviour, challenging behaviour, and case work
Skill in lone working and managing challenging situations with professionalism and sensitivity
Enrolled on an NVQ in Children's Care or equivalent, or at least 2 years' relevant experience without formal qualification
Relevant skills include: Child and Young Person Care, Advice and Guidance, Budgeting and Financial Management, Challenging Behaviour Management, and RSW - Adolescents
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, demonstrating excellent communication and organisational skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
