Job Description

The service is a well-established and highly regarded secure care and residential organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable young people in Angus and the surrounding areas. Their mission is to empower young individuals, aged 11-25, who have faced challenging life circumstances by providing a nurturing and caring environment that fosters personal growth and positive life choices.

Job Responsibility

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
  • Offering emotional support and counselling
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of individual care plans
  • Encouraging educational attainment and providing educational support
  • Facilitating workshops, group activities, and life skills sessions
  • Collaborating with other team members and external agencies
  • Monitoring and evaluating progress, maintaining accurate records, and reporting

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a care setting with young people
  • Knowledge of cognitive behavioural approaches, attachment theory and child protection policy
  • Experience advocating on behalf of a young person
  • Register under the PVG scheme
  • Full driving licence
  • Obtained SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent

Nice to have

Experience in a secure setting is beneficial, but not essential
