The Youth Programs Manager makes independent decisions to effectively manage the Center for Community Engagement's middle and high school youth programs. This position supports after-school and summer youth immersion programs, events, and youth and family engagement in close partnership with Spokane Public Schools. The Youth Programs Manager serves as a liaison to school and non-profit partners, community members, and Gonzaga students, staff, and faculty. Additionally, the Youth Programs Manager works with the Center for Community Engagement staff to plan and coordinate volunteer training, student leader development, and events. Training and risk management are critical components of this position in order to manage and mitigate potential risk for the university and community members.
Job Responsibility:
Make independent decisions to effectively manage and oversee the middle school and high school youth mentoring and development programs
Oversee the coordination of weekly program activities
provide leadership in developing appropriate curriculum and ensuring risk mitigation between college students and minors
Coordinate and supervise weekend events throughout the academic year
Recruit, hire, and train GU students for volunteer opportunities
Develop and implement program trainings and reflection opportunities for student leaders and volunteers
Manage and maintain documentation of data related to Gonzaga volunteers, youth, program attendance, recruitment, and program activities
Assist Data and Evaluation Analyst with data collection and reports
Apply equity lens to training, program operations, and partnerships
Act as a university liaison between Gonzaga students, staff, faculty and partner organizations
Ensure programs are in compliance with University risk management guidelines
Support program quality improvement, adhering to best practices in mentoring and youth development, applying values of anti-racism, diversity, equity and inclusion
May supervise Service Corps members and up to 15 college student leaders
Participate in departmental planning, training, assessment and strategic initiatives
Participates in CCE, Opportunity Northeast, and Student Affairs meetings
Participates in CCE and Student Affairs professional development opportunities

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
3 years of related experience
In lieu of the educational qualifications, candidates may qualify with equivalent professional experience at a ratio of one year of experience for each year of required education
Nice to have:
Master's degree in related field
Knowledge of and ability to animate Gonzaga's mission, vision, and values
Experience leading, supervising, and/or managing college students
Experience with community-engaged learning in higher education
Experience working with community-based organizations and/or schools
