Do you care deeply about young people’s mental health and want to make a real difference? We’re looking for someone to join our alternative provision school in Gloucester, supporting pupils aged 11-16 who’ve had a tough time in mainstream education. This role goes beyond the classroom: it’s about helping young people build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. Our school provides a safe and inclusive environment for learners with SEMH needs, EHCPs, and complex backgrounds, including experiences of trauma, social challenges, and unmet special needs. We re-engage students through creative projects, sport, and the arts, giving them the chance to thrive both emotionally and academically.
Job Responsibility:
Act as a positive role model and mentor
Help pupils develop emotional regulation and social skills
Work closely with teachers and support staff to put tailored strategies in place
Take part in outreach activities and off-site learning
Provide consistent, hands-on support across our sites
Requirements:
Experience supporting young people with SEMH or SEN needs
