Do you believe in giving young people the tools and opportunities to shape the services that impact their lives, and feel excited about helping them influence the future? If so, YMCA Norfolk wants to hear from you! We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Youth Involvement Worker to play a key role in supporting meaningful youth participation across our organisation. This is your chance to make a real impact, supporting young people to take the lead, influence decisions, and co-create services that matter.
Job Responsibility:
Championing Youth Voice: Support the creation and running of Youth Forums, Advisory Boards, and Residents’ Meetings—spaces where young people can speak up, be heard, and influence real decisions
Bringing Co-Production to Life: Facilitate creative workshops where young people work alongside staff to design and improve services. You’ll help turn ideas into action through youth-led projects, social action initiatives, and volunteering opportunities
Empowering Young Leaders: Deliver inspiring training sessions on leadership, advocacy, and governance. You’ll help young people grow in confidence and represent YMCA Norfolk at local, national, and even international events
Making Participation Visible: Use social media, newsletters, and events to showcase youth involvement and invite more young people to get involved. You’ll also coordinate surveys and feedback to show the impact of their voices
Creating Safe, Inclusive Spaces: Ensure every activity is welcoming, respectful, and aligned with safeguarding best practices. You’ll promote diversity and inclusion in everything you do
Tracking Impact: Monitor engagement, gather feedback, and report on progress using YMCA Norfolk’s systems—helping us continuously improve how we involve young people
Requirements:
Youth-focused experience: You’ve worked directly with young people, especially those facing challenges, and know how to support their growth and leadership
Confident facilitator: You can lead engaging workshops, spark meaningful conversations, and create inclusive, empowering spaces
Strong communicator: Whether mentoring, presenting, or posting online—you’re clear, creative, and inspiring
Organised and adaptable: You manage multiple priorities with ease and stay focused on what matters most: youth voice
Values-led: You’re passionate about inclusion, safeguarding, and giving young people real influence
Team player: You collaborate well and are excited to help embed youth participation across the organisation
