Many young people today feel forgotten by the traditional education system. As a Youth Engagement Mentor, you aren't just a tutor; you are a lifeline. You will work one-on-one with students who are persistently absent or excluded from school, including those with SEND, SEMH challenges, or complex barriers to learning. Your mission is to build a 're-engagement bridge,' guiding students from total isolation back into a stable learning environment, college, or vocational pathway.
Job Responsibility:

Meeting the young person where they are to build trust, delivering 1:1 sessions focused on confidence, emotional regulation, and self-esteem
Delivering low-pressure interest-based activities to reignite the habit of learning, physically accompanying students to interviews or placements
Acting as the 'voice of the child' in multi-agency meetings with Social Care and CAMHS, supporting parents in creating a home environment that encourages attendance and growth
Requirements:
Working with 'at-risk' youth or SEND
Strong de-escalation and boundary-setting
Unshakeable patience and a non-judgmental approach
