Job Description:

Many young people today feel forgotten by the traditional education system. As a Youth Engagement Mentor, you aren't just a tutor; you are a lifeline. You will work one-on-one with students who are persistently absent or excluded from school, including those with SEND, SEMH challenges, or complex barriers to learning. Your mission is to build a 're-engagement bridge,' guiding students from total isolation back into a stable learning environment, college, or vocational pathway.

Job Responsibility:

Build a re-engagement bridge
deliver 1:1 sessions focused on confidence, emotional regulation, and self-esteem
physically accompany students to interviews or placements
teach vital life skills like budgeting and navigating public transport
act as the voice of the child in multi-agency meetings
support parents in creating a home environment that encourages attendance and growth

Requirements:

Experience working with at-risk youth or SEND
unshakeable patience and a non-judgmental approach
strong de-escalation and boundary-setting
creative, out-of-the-box thinker
specific experience with ADHD, Autism, or ODD
knowledge of local colleges and the job market
