Kew Youth Council brings together a group of 15 young people aged 17-25 who are committed to creating a world where nature is valued and protected. They work with our senior leadership team to help fulfil Kew’s mission and ensure that the voice and views of young people are integrated into Kew’s decision-making.
Job Responsibility:
Meet onsite quarterly to provide consultation on various Kew projects
Feed into RBG Kew’s Executive Board papers and discussions
Regularly submit a report to the Board of Trustees
Join voluntary working groups (online monthly) to plan and execute projects
Develop events
Connect to other youth advocacy organisations
Work on policy documents
Conduct research
Represent Kew at public events (voluntary)
Requirements:
Aged 17-25
Committed to creating a world where nature is valued and protected
Willing and able to be representatives of Kew and its work
Willing and able to offer opinions, ideas and perspectives on a wide range of organisational matters
Able to attend 5 full day, in-person sessions across the year for a minimum term of 1 year and maximum of 3
Able to complete pre-reading (2 hours prior to each session)
