Job Description

You’ll be joining a specialist alternative provision school in Bristol that gives young people a fresh start outside mainstream education. This nurturing, therapeutic environment helps pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs rebuild trust, self‑belief and meaningful engagement with learning.

Job Responsibility

  • Mentoring young people with behavioural, emotional and social needs
  • Being a calm and steady presence when pupils face challenging moments
  • Offering outreach support for students struggling to attend or engage
  • Helping young people regulate, reset and return to learning
  • Working closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams to embed personalised behaviour plans
  • Encouraging pupils to grow emotionally, build resilience and develop positive routines
  • Providing consistent support that helps pupils feel seen, heard and believed in

Requirements

  • Experience supporting young people with behaviour needs, SEMH or complex backgrounds
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as outreach is part of the role
