Job Description

The primary goal of the Youth Activity Programmer is to organize and lead engaging poolside activities that create a fun and energetic atmosphere for kids and families. To accomplish this, the Youth Activity Programmer will plan, set up, and supervise games, events, and activities at the pool. They will ensure safety, encourage participation, and maintain a positive environment. This role is part-time, focused on weekends, and may also include opportunities to work additional hours as a lifeguard or banquet server.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan, organize, and lead poolside games, activities, and events for children and families
  • Engage both kids and adults to create a welcoming and energetic atmosphere
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed and maintain a secure environment around the pool
  • Assist with setup and cleanup of activity areas and materials
  • Encourage participation and foster positive interactions among guests
  • Communicate clearly with parents, guardians, and management as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service and address guest questions or concerns professionally
  • Collaborate with other staff to create a fun, team-oriented environment
  • Be prepared to adjust activities based on weather, attendance, or special circumstances
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform and conduct guidelines

Requirements

  • CPR and Lifeguard certification preferred
  • Experience as a lifeguard or banquet server is a plus
  • Ability to spend long periods outdoors in sun and heat
  • Move quickly around the pool area, including running, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Constant interaction with children, requiring energy, alertness, and stamina
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and outgoing
  • Patient, empathetic, and skilled at engaging children of all ages
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead activities confidently and manage groups effectively
  • Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a fun team environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in youth programming, camp counseling, or recreation preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Nice to have
