As a Young Person’s Worker across our accommodation services in Islington, Camden and Waltham Forest, you will be right alongside young people at risk of homelessness, helping them move from uncertainty towards stability and independence. This is hands on, purposeful work where every day matters, and where your determination can unlock real opportunity for those who need it most.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a caseload of young people
  • Build trusted relationships
  • Empower young people to lead their journey forward
  • Create and review personalised support and safety plans
  • Support moves into independent accommodation
  • Help young people take steps into education, training or employment
  • Champion each young person’s goals
  • Develop practical life skills such as budgeting, self care and cooking
  • Support access to essential services including mental health support, housing advice and employment pathways
  • Motivate and coach young people to take ownership of their futures

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people in the community and in accommodation services
  • Practical skills in motivation and coaching young people
  • Creative, analytical, trauma-informed approach rooted in a strengths and recovery model
  • Ability to creatively inspire opportunities for young people
  • Non-judgmental approach to working with complex needs young people
  • Understanding of and commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion
  • Strong team-working and interpersonal skills

  • Work closely with the CHIDVA and DA & Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) worker to identify local trends and deliver targeted training to professionals
  • Raise awareness of the signs of abuse in young people’s relationships and improve safeguarding responses
  • Work with young causing harm and support them to adopt healthy behaviours
  • Work closely with children’s services, education settings, and youth service and a wide range of agencies to champion the needs of young people affected by domestic abuse
