About the role: Justteachers is seeking a part time Year 6 Intervention Teacher to join a vibrant primary school in September 2026 in the Accrington area to cover on a long term basis. Job Responsibility

  • Plan and deliver targeted intervention sessions for Year 6 pupils to support progress in core subjects, particularly Maths and English
  • Use assessment data to identify learning gaps and tailor interventions to meet individual and group needs
  • Support pupils in preparing for end of KS2 SATs, building confidence and exam readiness
  • Create a positive, focused learning environment that promotes resilience and engagement
  • Differentiate intervention strategies to support a range of abilities, including pupils requiring additional support
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, adapting support strategies to maximise impact
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, encouraging motivation, independence, and a growth mindset
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure consistency and alignment with classroom learning

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Recent experience teaching within KS2, particularly Year 6
  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation, with proven ability to accelerate pupil progress
  • Enhanced DBS clearance with experience supporting pupils with diverse learning needs
