Job Description

Year 5 Class Teacher - Knowsley. Location: Knowsley. Salary: £130 - £180 per day (Experience Dependent). Contract: Full-Time, Temporary / Temp-to-Perm - Mat Leave. The Opportunity: Make an Impact in Key Stage 2. Are you a motivated and enthusiastic educator ready to inspire a Year 5 class? We are working closely with a vibrant and inclusive mainstream primary school in Knowsley to appoint a dedicated KS2 Class Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, forward-thinking team during a crucial stage of children's development. You will take full responsibility for the class, fostering a safe and engaging environment where high standards of learning are met with creativity and support.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the National Curriculum, with a strong focus on core subjects including Reading, Writing, and Maths
  • Manage all aspects of teaching, from initial lesson planning and delivery to final assessment and reporting
  • Implement creative and inclusive teaching strategies that meet the unique needs of every learner in the classroom
  • Contribute to the school's assessment and implementation strategies, tracking pupil progress to ensure high standards of achievement
  • Work within a well-supported and collaborative setting, contributing positively to the wider school life and community ethos

Requirements

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). ECTs are welcome and encouraged to apply
  • Proven classroom experience within Key Stage 2, with an understanding of pupil progress tracking and assessment expectations
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive teaching and a desire to make a real difference in the Knowsley community
  • A reliable, reflective practitioner who is committed to professional growth and enjoys working as part of a team
  • An Enhanced DBS check on the update service and eligibility to work in the UK

  • Manage a team of master trainers with fluency in Kannada language and co-facilitate high-quality training sessions
  • Identify and document the best practices & challenges emerging from the field and proactively prepare learning material to scale/address them
  • Use data-informed decisions to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the training sessions conducted by the Khan Academy India team
  • Work closely with Teacher Professional Development team to strengthen the existing teacher professional development framework, aligned with the team’s overall goals
  • Coordination with the concerned departments for training program approval including getting the circulars/letters issued, working with the department for ensuring training execution etc.
  • Work closely with Karnataka team to drive the program implementation in the state of Karnataka
