Job Description:

Year 5 Primary Teacher – Hastings. Long-term, Full-time | Start Date: February or April | MPS/UPS. I am looking for a long-term Year 5 Primary Teacher role in Hastings within a school that values consistency, clear expectations, and realistic support from leadership. This opportunity is within a well-organised primary school that has a settled KS2 team, shared planning, and a strong focus on behaviour and pupil wellbeing. This is a school where routines are embedded, expectations are consistent across classes, and staff work collaboratively rather than in isolation. The Year 5 class is settled, and support staff are experienced and proactive, allowing teachers to focus on high-quality teaching rather than constant firefighting. This role would suit a Primary Teacher who enjoys teaching KS2, values structure, and wants to work in a school where leadership is visible and supportive.

Job Responsibility:

  • Taking full responsibility for a Year 5 class
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Using assessment effectively to support progress
  • Maintaining a calm, well-managed classroom environment
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and senior leaders

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in a UK primary school
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training
