We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly effective year 5 Teacher to join us on a cover/temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Primary School, delivering high-quality teaching and inspiring students in Year 5. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engaging, well-structured lessons across the primary curriculum, fostering a love of learning and supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development. Job Responsibility:
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the Year 5 curriculum, ensuring progression in students’ learning
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports students’ academic, social, and emotional development
Assess, monitor, and record student progress, using data to inform planning and differentiated instruction
Support the development of critical thinking, independence, and a love of learning in all students
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and wellbeing
Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to curriculum planning and whole-school initiatives
Contribute to the pastoral life of the school, promoting student wellbeing and positive behaviour
Requirements:
Hold a recognised teaching qualification with experience teaching Upper Primary / Year 5 students
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging, well-structured lessons
Have a high level of English proficiency, with excellent communication skills
Show a commitment to student wellbeing and inclusive teaching practices
Be a collaborative, proactive professional, willing to contribute to the wider life of the school
