Job Description

We are proud to be working with a welcoming and close‑knit primary school in Crawley who are seeking a passionate and nurturing Year 2 Teacher to join their team. This role offers a rare opportunity to work in a small school environment where relationships are valued, staff know their pupils well, and teaching is truly child‑centred. The school is open to both an immediate start or a September appointment, depending on availability.

Job Responsibility

  • Take responsibility for a friendly and engaging Year 2 class
  • Deliver high‑quality lessons aligned with the National Curriculum
  • Support pupils through a key transition year with a focus on confidence and independence
  • Create a calm, inclusive classroom environment with clear routines
  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, SEN support, and senior leaders
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues

Requirements

  • Holds QTS (or is due to qualify)
  • Has experience or a strong interest in Lower KS2 / KS1 transition
  • Is nurturing, organised, and reflective in their practice
  • Has confident classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Works well as part of a small, supportive team

Nice to have

  • Experience or a strong interest in Lower KS2 / KS1 transition
  • Experience as an ECT or experienced teacher
