Job Description:

Year 2 Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary cover starting ASAP in Axminster and the surrounding areas. The school provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where pupils feel safe and supported. Leaders have high expectations for behaviour and achievement, and staff work collaboratively to ensure lessons are engaging and well-structured. Pupils benefit from a broad curriculum and strong pastoral care, helping them develop both academically and personally.

Job Responsibility:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Year 2 pupils in line with the national curriculum
Differentiate learning activities to meet individual pupil needs
Assess, record, and report on pupil progress in accordance with school policies
Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning
Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a safe and productive learning space
Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to whole-school initiatives
Uphold safeguarding and welfare standards at all times

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum
Ability to inspire and motivate pupils to achieve their full potential
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Nice to have:

Previous experience teaching Year 2 is desirable
