Job Description:

Year 2 Supply Teacher | KS1 Specialist | Local Primary Schools. Play a vital role in a child's final year of Key Stage 1, ensuring they are prepared for the transition to Juniors (KS2). Use your expertise to guide pupils through assessment periods with a calm, supportive, and "no-pressure" approach. Work across different school environments, from creative arts-led schools to those with a heavy focus on academic excellence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Confident Curriculum Delivery: Deliver engaging lessons in Literacy and Numeracy that challenge "Greater Depth" learners while supporting those meeting expectations
  • Phonics & Reading: Continue to embed strong decoding skills and foster a genuine love for reading as children move toward more complex texts
  • Classroom Leadership: Maintain a focused and positive learning environment using established behaviour management strategies
  • Consistent Continuity: Follow the permanent teacher's planning accurately or use your own high-quality "emergency" resources to ensure a productive day of learning

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS: You have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Are a Year 2 Expert: You have a solid understanding of KS1 assessment frameworks and the Year 2 National Curriculum
