Job Description:

We are currently working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Hartlepool that is seeking a dedicated Year 2 Class Teacher for a full-time, long-term position. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator or an enthusiastic ECT looking to develop their teaching career in Key Stage 1. The successful candidate will lead a vibrant Year 2 class, delivering high-quality learning experiences that support pupils as they prepare for their KS1 SATs and transition to KS2.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the KS1 national curriculum
  • Prepare pupils for end-of-KS1 assessments (SATs)
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
  • Use formative and summative assessment to track progress
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience teaching in KS1 (preferably Year 2)
  • A thorough understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment standards
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
