Year 1 Supply Teacher | KS1 Specialist | Local Primary Schools. Position: Full-Time or Part-Time, Flexible (Term Time Only). Salary: £140 - £233 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience). Start Date: Immediate / Next Term. Are you a qualified teacher who loves the magic of Key Stage 1 but craves a better work-life balance? Join our local primary network as a Year 1 Supply Teacher and inspire young learners as they transition into their first formal years of schooling. Flexibility Without the Burnout. We are seeking enthusiastic KS1 Teachers to lead Year 1 classes across a variety of high-achieving and community-focused schools. This role is ideal for those who want to focus on high-quality teaching and pupil engagement rather than endless data tracking and weekend planning.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging age-appropriate lessons bridging play-based learning and KS1 structure
  • Utilise knowledge of Phonics to boost reading confidence
  • Quickly build rapport with new groups of children maintaining a calm productive safe learning environment
  • Differentiate tasks on the fly to support pupils with diverse needs ensuring every child stays on track with the day's objectives

Requirements

  • QTS: Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • KS1 Specialist: deep understanding of Year 1 curriculum and developmental needs of 5 and 6-year-olds
  • Adaptable: able to walk into a new classroom and command respect and curiosity through high-energy teaching
  • Committed: holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply) and dedicated to Safeguarding
