Job Description

Lead the charge in Year 1, with a particular emphasis on early literacy, numeracy, and the transition from EYFS. Experience different school cultures and demographics, from small village schools to large multi-academy trusts. Leave at the end of the school day! As a supply teacher, you enjoy the rewards of the classroom with no 'take-home' marking or staff meetings. Competitive daily rates of £140 - £233, paid every Friday via Randstad.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that bridge the gap between play-based learning and KS1 structure
  • Utilise knowledge of Phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc, Jolly Phonics, or Little Wandle) to boost reading confidence
  • Quickly build rapport with new groups of children, maintaining a calm, productive, and safe learning environment
  • Differentiate tasks on the fly to support pupils with diverse needs, ensuring every child stays on track with the day's objectives

Requirements

  • Hold QTS: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Are a KS1 Specialist: A deep understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and the developmental needs of 5 and 6-year-olds
  • Are Adaptable: Can walk into a new classroom and instantly command respect and curiosity through high-energy teaching
  • Are Committed: Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding
