Job Description:

We have a temporary full-time Yard Worker position available in a busy Auto Recycling facility located in Surrey, BC! The steel manufacturing facility converts recycled scrap metal into high-quality finished steel products, including reinforcing bar (rebar), wire rod, coiled bar, merchant bar, and other specialty products. This role is well suited for individuals who thrive in an independent work environment and are able to remain focused and self-directed while efficiently completing assigned tasks.

Job Responsibility:

  • Sorting and lifting various types of metals, including non-ferrous metals, for the majority of the shift
  • Tidying, cleaning, and maintaining an organized and safe working environment in both the warehouse and yard
  • Possibility of forklift operation - Sit Down Counterbalance
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Working independently as well as part of a team of approximately 7–10 employees
  • Work will be performed both outdoors and indoors, with regular exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Equipment on site includes shredders, forklifts, skid steers, loaders, scrap handlers, mobile and stationary shears, car crushers, rock trucks, vacuum trucks, and non-ferrous balers
  • Lifting requirements: up to 40 lbs with occasional lifting

Requirements:

  • You have Steel Toe Boots
  • You are legally permitted to work Fulltime in British Columbia
