Job Description:

As a Yard Operator, your primary responsiblities will be operating mobile equipment. Reporting to the Log Yard Supervisor, you will conquer unique and varied challenges while working alongside Operating and Maintenance personnel. Shifts are mainly Monday to Friday days shifts with some early morning starts in winter for sanding and clearing parking lots and roadways with the occasional weekend.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensuring safety is a high priority in operators’ area of influence including equipment pre-trip inspections and reporting of incidents
  • Operating front end loader/fork lift
  • Operating button-top, grader, rock truck, western star logging truck, sand truck and rubber tired back hoe
  • Safely loading and Unloading logging trucks
  • Assisting various departments as needed kilns, planermill, sawmill and shipping

Requirements:

  • Strong work ethic and a safety driven mindset
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written
  • Experience operating Heavy Equipment
  • Possession of a Heavy Equipment Operator Ticket is an asset
