Job Description:

The role of Yard Supervisor is provide support to the branch management and leadership teams, helping to achieve branch sales as well as reach profit & margin targets.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise the yard ensuring that the team provides a friendly, helpful and responsive service to customers
  • responsible for all required aspects of Health & Safety
  • loading and unloading of supplier vehicles and own vehicles
  • ensuring accurate picking of orders for delivery

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a similar customer-focussed environment
  • basic people management skills
  • ability to promote great teamwork
  • commitment to Health & Safety
  • ability to get the job done
  • previous experience of driving a forklift truck is preferred however not essential

Nice to have:

Previous experience of driving a forklift truck

  • Ensure all site spill kits are maintained, inspected, and fit for purpose.
  • Act as Defibrillator Champion, ensuring equipment is maintained, accessible, and supported by workforce awareness and training.
  • Oversee firing pipe refurbishment, including planning, contractor coordination, inspections, refractory installation, and safe return to service.
  • Lead and develop the Support Team, ensuring safe and effective preheater cleaning and process support activities using Cardox, HP jetting, and LP water systems.
  • Provide out of hours support for process issues and blockages to maintain production continuity.
  • Provide cover for the Yard Supervisor, ensuring safe yard operations, waste management, and drainage upkeep.
