Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role
Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Full UK driving licence

Experience in a similar role within a builders’ merchant, construction, or trade environment (preferred but not essential)
Good knowledge of building materials and products (desirable)
Forklift licence (counterbalance) desirable but training may be provided

Job Responsibility

Deliver building materials to customers using a company van (3.5t or similar), ensuring safe and legal driving at all times
Plan efficient delivery routes in line with schedules provided
Ensure all goods are correctly loaded, secured, and signed for
Provide excellent customer service upon delivery, resolving minor queries where possible
Undertaking various other driving jobs required in relation to the efficient operation of the business
Assisting in the yard area with deliveries and assisting customers where necessary
Assist customers in locating and loading building materials
Safely load/unload goods from supplier vehicles and customer collections using forklifts (if licensed)
Maintain yard organisation and cleanliness, ensuring materials are stored safely and correctly
Carry out regular stock checks and report shortages or damages
