Requirements

1 to 4 years previous experience with forklifts and other machinery
Has Forklift Certification
Good knowledge of lumber products
Ability to model the Capital values and to provide innovative solutions
Ability to deliver high quality, detailed error free work on a consistent basis
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to the extent required to receive and communicate information as necessary to the position
Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds
Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 5% or less of the workday
Must be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.

Job Responsibility

Operates a forklift to lift, load, or move material
Inspects, maintains, and repairs forklift equipment as needed
Reads hand written or system generated sales order to determine product
Notes all special instructions for filling an order
Accurately pulls delivery orders and stages for loading as directed
Accurately pulls delivery orders and packages as directed
Loads product on trailers for delivery
Unloads product from incoming rail cars or trailers checking manifest
Notes all discrepancies and reviews these with Supervisor
Safely, accurately, courteously loads product on customer’s truck/trailer

Requirements

Valid Forklift Operator Certification (SDCB)
Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a forklift
Previous experience in a yard or outdoor warehouse environment is highly preferred
Ability to pass initial safety assessments and complete required e-learning modules
Reliable transportation to the Surrey, BC location for early morning shifts
Commitment to physical labour and heavy lifting throughout the shift

Job Responsibility

Operate a Sit-Down Counterbalance Forklift safely within a busy yard environment
Perform heavy manual labour, including the repetitive lifting and carrying of building materials (shingles) weighing up to 50 lbs
Conduct daily equipment inspections and safely change propane tanks as required for forklift operation
Organize and stack inventory according to safety specifications and site layouts
Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks with precision and care
Maintain a clean and organized yard to prevent hazards and ensure efficient traffic flow
Participate in mandatory safety e-learnings and on-site training sessions
Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure accurate inventory tracking
Follow all provincial and company-specific health and safety regulations at all times

What we offer

Competitive starting wage of $21.50 per hour
Consistent full-time schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
