Job Description

The 2nd Shift Yard Driver will operate A class trucks in between the plant, distribution center and suppliers in the greater Cincinnati area. The position will also be tasked with utilizing forklifts and supporting the loading and unloading of trucks.

Job Responsibility

  • Operate with a safety-first mindset
  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure the proper movements of trailers to the desired facility
  • Perform all pre and post trip inspections while properly communicating any issues or concerns
  • Maintain 5S standards (continuous cleaning of area while plant is operating)
  • Operate powered industrial trucks
  • Maintain cross training on multiple pieces of equipment
  • Remaining up to date with safety, LMS, and ISO trainings
  • Periodic handling of freight or out of spec product
  • Employees will be trained and must utilize machine safety standards that will include control of hazardous energy, LOTO, and fortress keys
  • Employees will be required to be engaged in additional safety programs which include but are not limited to PPE, ergonomics, PIT, and safety/environmental programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Class A CDL required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Previous experience in team environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with SAP
  • Previous experience with scanners and WMS
  • Safe driving history
  • Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Ability to frequently lift up to 50llbs, walk up and down stairs, stand and squat multiple times throughout shift. Must be able to hear and see safety devices and warnings.
