We are currently recruiting a Yard Associate for a position out of our retail center in Fredericton, New Brunswick. We are seeking a hands-on candidate who will own the day-to-day operation of the yard and run it with pride, accountability, and attention to detail. This is a full-time seasonal position with the possibility of moving to full-time permenant.
Job Responsibility:
Inventory quality and documenting all incoming product shipments for accuracy and damage
Ensuring outgoing orders are accurately picked, staged, loaded, and shipped
Supporting yard layout planning and make adjustments to improve material flow and reduce over-handling
Conducting and documenting daily inspections of mobile equipment (e.g., forklifts) and report mechanical issues before they become safety hazards
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe yard environment
Assisting with on-the-job training of new hires in all aspects of the Yard Associate role
Enforcing safe yard operations, including proper PPE use and compliance with company safety policies
Provide knowledgeable, professional assistance to customers regarding materials and product selection
Verify customer receipts against loaded materials
Conduct regular cycle counts, with a focus on high-turnover inventory
Requirements:
Grade XII or equivalent
training or experience in customer service will be considered a strong asset
Ability to safely operate a forklift in and around tight spaces
training and experience an asset
A commitment to workplace safety for yourself, fellow employees and customers
Ability to handle heavy merchandise, and work outside in all weather conditions
Trustworthy with the ability to handle paperwork accurately
Customer service oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
Experience in Shipping and Receiving
Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Ability to work Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm with opportunity for Overtime
