Job Responsibility

  • Reviews and analyzes complex water rights, water rights changes, and subdivision water distribution plans submitted to the Board of Control in accordance with Wyoming water law and the Board of Control's Regulations and Instructions
  • Interprets water right or technical data and performs water right searches
  • Resolves problems, discrepancies, and deficiencies on petitions, water distribution plans, and maps in accordance with Wyoming water law and Board of Control Regulations
  • Formulates detailed correspondence regarding technical issues
  • Assists the public, the agency, other state agencies, and federal agencies
  • Attends and participates in quarterly and special Board meetings and public hearings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (typically in The Sciences)
  • 0-3 years of progressive work experience in scientific analysis, records management or water rights with acquired knowledge at the level of a Natural Resources Specialist
  • 4-6 years of progressive work experience in scientific analysis, records management or water rights with acquired knowledge at the level of a Natural Resources Specialist (education & experience substitution)
  • Preference may be given to those with a Bachelor's degree in water resource sciences, natural resources or environmental science
