Job Description

The Four Seasons Resorts Lāna’i is looking for a Wrangler who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. Our teams have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the Resort and exemplifying the Golden Rule in each interaction. Work authorization required.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead guided horseback trail rides by providing riding instruction, monitoring guest safety, assessing trail conditions, and ensuring a memorable and engaging experience for all participants
  • Deliver exceptional guest service by creating a welcoming ranch environment, sharing knowledge of Lanaʻi’s history and culture, and fostering meaningful guest interactions
  • Oversee daily horse care, including feeding, watering, grooming, health monitoring, administering basic treatments as directed, and ensuring horses are safe and prepared for activities
  • Maintain and inspect saddles, bridles, pads, and other tack to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper functionality
  • Preserve the appearance and safety of ranch facilities and trails by maintaining barns, stables, fencing, and surrounding grounds to high operational and presentation standards
  • Monitor animal behavior, report health or safety concerns, and support the overall well-being of livestock and readiness of ranch operations
  • Assist with ranch activities and operational needs while maintaining a clean, organized, and guest-ready environment at all times

Requirements

  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States
  • The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day and scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Holidays and weekends availability is required
  • Hawaii Driver’s License and Abstract is required for this role
  • Equine First Responder Certificate, First Aid, and CRP certification preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 80 lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts
  • Expert ability to ride and handle horses with diverse temperaments. Proficiency in Western and English riding and tacking

  • Long-Term Thinking — Provide safe, attentive daily care for all livestock: stock round bales, administer pelleted feeds and supplements according to the feeding chart, and ensure a clean water supply at all times. Perform daily welfare checks monitoring temperament, body and hoof condition, and signs of injury or illness. Administer routine treatments and basic first aid. Maintain and repair tack
  • Attitude is Everything — Maintain cleanliness of all Equestrian facilities and equipment with consistency and pride: hand-muck corrals daily, clean lean-tos and pastures by hand and by machinery, clean feed buckets and tack areas, weed whip using proper PPE, and perform manual snow removal and sanding of key areas as needed. Periodically replace wood chips and fill dirt in corrals, pastures, and lean-tos. Hand-pick, drag, rake, and brush-hog pastures and trails.
