Job Responsibility:
Lead Dynamic Language Instruction: Create and implement a comprehensive school-wide vision for Spanish language acquisition
Develop engaging, culturally rich curriculum for elementary and middle school students
Foster listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through individual and group instruction
Integrate language learning with cross-curricular activities and project-based learning
Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback to students and families
Champion English Learner Success: Ensure full compliance with federal and state EL regulations including Title III/ESSA requirements
Oversee identification, assessment, and placement of English Learners
Coordinate language proficiency assessments and monitor student progress data
Develop and implement effective EL programs and instructional accommodations
Prepare required reports for Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction
Build Inclusive Communities: Provide professional development on EL best practices and cultural sensitivity
Foster positive relationships with multilingual families and community organizations
Advocate for EL students at district and state levels
Promote cultural competency throughout our school community
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure equitable access to challenging education
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred)
Wisconsin Teaching License for Spanish (1365) and EL License (395)
Experience in world language instruction at elementary and middle school levels
Knowledge of EL instructional strategies and compliance requirements
Native or near-native Spanish proficiency
Strong cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for family and community engagement
